Did you notice that in the author's discussion in the preprint, that they used a new uncharacterized humanized mouse strain, with the potential of unknown metabolic defects? The authors also bring up the possibility that their new mouse strain overexpressed ACE2 in the brain. The lethality may lie in the mouse strain, not the mutated virus. This may be akin to enhanced Covid19 lethality in diabetic and obese humans.

Thank you. Good points. I just posted about this concern about their unique model in Part II. I think it only raises more questions.

The problem is that it is not black and white. I have deep respect for GoF experiments. It is a different question of whether SARS-CoV-2 killed all those that are claimed. There is plenty of evidence horrific other factors were in place. As for H5N1, you may agree with my posts on the lack of presence of a viable virus in cattle. But overall, DURC work is dangerous, not adequately regulated, not adequately understood, and misrepresented to many.
