Due to acute and serious issues with aging parents, I have not been able to post. Today, I accidentally came across some of my reflections from 1.5 years ago, based on A Course in Miracles. Re-reading it meant a lot to me, possibly because of what we are going through here. Anyhow, perhaps it also means something to someone else. Here it is:
A Course in Miracle Lesson 90 “Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved”
"Let me realize today that the problem is always some form of grievance which I would cherish. Let me also understand that the solution is always a miracle with which I let the grievance be replaced. Today I would remember the simplicity of salvation by reinforcing the lesson that there is one problem and one solution. The problem is a grievance; the solution is a miracle. And I invite the solution to come to me through my forgiveness of the grievance and my welcome of the miracle which takes its place."
I believe this also applies to the pandemic. As people grapple to find a solution, and as people find fault and blame each other, one may think that sooner or later, the question of forgiveness will come up. But this lesson says it is not about forgiveness of other people's faults!
The solution is much simpler and much more beautiful.
The problem is the grievances which we have all experienced and which we like to hang on to. The solution is not fault finding or attribution, but to let go of all the grievances the pandemic has caused.
So, according to ACIM, there is a magnificent solution to the pandemic and its aftermath – once we recognize the problem. The real problem is the grievance and the solution is a miracle that it conceals.
